Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
One Trusted Adult is on a mission to ensure that every young person on this planet can name at least one trained, motivated and committed trusted adult at home and at school.
Our research-based professional development trainings, advisory curriculum, and student leadership courses have been developed from five foundational principles and provide activities, tools, and strategies to help build and deepen relationships between young people and Trusted Adults.
UNIQUE BENEFITS
Our Principles
Ensuring every young person has many trained, accessible, boundaried, and caring adults they can trust is an upstream strategy we must all invest in.
Trust requires that we—adults and young people—understand, set, and respect boundaries.
Opportunities for connection are increased when we create spaces for young people to get their needs met.
Adults can only go 50 percent of the way in making connections. Youth must be taught, encouraged, and given the opportunity to go the other 50 percent of the way to build trusted relationships.
Strong adult to youth connections center on presence, play, and possibility.
